Getting back into the crafting world has been so much fun especially these past couple of weeks. I forgot how much I missed being on a Design Team I think! This weeks challenge was using Digistamps4Joy. The challenge was theme was Anything Goes with a Twist - Heritage. So it took me awhile to come up with something for this one. Sometimes the creativeness of it all just doesn't come to mind as quickly as it used to but I'm getting there again hopefully! I chose to use the Ndebele Hut stamp. I had to actually Google the stamp name to come up with the design to color the stamp. I then used the cute little house stamp from Bugaboo Stamps colored in our USA, red, white and blue, because that is where I am from. The sentiment was typed and I added the three roses in red, white and blue to tie in my heritage again. This card started out a challenge for sure but wound up being quite fun! Please visit our blog at Crafting By Designs and play along with the challenge this week!

Here is my card I made as part of the Design Team for CBD:

Crafting By Designs Challenge

Hi Everyone - I hope this week has got off to a great start for everyone!  I have been quite busy - yesterday was our 30th Wedding Anniversary and the day passed by very quickly.  I honestly do not like having our anniversary day fall on a week day!  I love for it to fall on the weekends, that way we can celebrate all weekend! LOL!  I guess we cheat a bit but none the less - we had a great time.  Had a great dinner at Longhorns Steak House and ate way too much!

Now on to the crafting world, as I said in my first post back to the blog world I am now helping on the Design Team again at Crafting By Designs.  I loved helping before and I'm so excited about being back with the group again!

This week the challenge is Anything Goes and is being sponsored by Kenny K.  I chose to use the Sexy Teacher stamp just because I wanted to challenge myself a bit with something different. Normally I use the cutesy animal or children stamps so this was not only a challenge for me but quite a fun one to see how it turned out.

Here's my card for the challenge:

My favorite item used on this card, besides for the image of course is the aluminum foil for the bubble background. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE using aluminum foil in my Cuttle Bug or Sizzix machine.  It's so forgiving and you can use it in so many ways.

Please take a moment and join us for the challenge this week!  Go to Crafting By Designs and just follow the rules to submit an entry for a chance at winning this weeks challenge!

Have a great week everyone!

Starting Over.........a new chapter beginning

Starting over  - the title could be a bit misleading but in my case - this is a good thing!  I lost my blog after a long absence and just recently was able to obtain the name again so here I am.  Quite ironically Doris, my dear friend that I lost touch with contacted me to come back and help with the Design Team on the group that she and I started a couple years ago.  Crafting By Designs!  I was of course thrilled to be able to join up with the group and also crazy jumping with joy that we found each other again! I have a lot to catch up on and a lot to redo on the blog to get it back to where it was but eventually it will be up and running as before!
As for the new chapters in our lives - man - how a couple of years can change things!  We now have a new daughter-in-law and we have our first Grand baby on the way - due in just a few months actually.  "She" will be here at the end of December or beginning of January.  This is our oldest son's first baby and the first Great Grand baby on my hubby's side with the family name so we are all very excited to see her cute little face in a few months!  We are almost empty nest-ers now, our youngest just started her Sophomore year in college so the hubby and I are adjusting to all the changes and so excited about the new changes to come!  I'm very blessed in so many ways but mostly because I have the most wonderful family and friends anyone could ask for.  My sweet, understanding hubby and I will be celebrating our anniversary next week - this is a big one - 30 wonderful years together!  Where has the time gone?  I wish we could have 300 more together!  I guess we really take the years for granted when we are much younger.  Now I wish I had really taken the time to stop and enjoy things more.  Crafting My Memories has became more than just a blog name to me but also something I intend to do for the rest of the time I have here on this wonderful earth for my kids and grand kids to be able to look back and see what an amazing family we had! So as I add to and re-do and organize and familiarize myself with the blog world again, I hope you will check back from time to time to see what life has blessed us with for the day!
